Experience

Patrick’s journey to advise early-stage technology companies on making the right decisions at the right time began in the 1960s working at his family’s IHC/CaseIH farm equipment dealership established in 1912 in Atkinson Nebraska in the USA.

At his family’s dealership Patrick watched the introduction of new technologies that would transform the agriculture equipment industry and, as a result, increase productivity per farmer in the global agriculture sector.

His journey continued in 1980 after completing his curriculum for a Master’s in Public Administration as he watched the next generation of renewable energy technologies begin to transform the energy sector.

In 1988 the journey took him to San Francisco where he entered the financial services industry working at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Citicorp and, for three years before relocating to Europe in 1998, Hambrecht & Quist (H&Q) Investment Banking.

It was during his three years at H&Q - established in 1968 - that Patrick was introduced to the problem-oriented and research-driven approach created by the founders of H&Q - Bill Hambrecht and George Quist.

With is approach H&Q transformed the capital raising and M&A processes for early stage technology companies in order to accelerate the growth and increase their value in less-time and at a lower-cost from an “Idea to an IPO”.

Just from 1996-1998 this tranformation led to H&Q

  • completing 241 IPOs for a total volume of $13.9 billion and

  • completing 184 M&A transactions with a total dollar volume of $20.1 billion.

Relocating to Istanbul TURKEY in 1998 to gain global experience Patrick took take what he learned at H&Q and applied his vision in Turkey and the region at

  • Strateji Securities as Managing Director of Corporate Finance,

  • Is Venture Capital as General Manager; and,

  • Bosfor Bioscience Partners as Co-Founder and Managing Partner.

In 2008 to Patrick relocated to Lyon FRANCE to further develop his capabilities in the core technology of the global computing industry - semiconductor materials and devices - at Yole Finance - a business unit of the Yole Group - as Senior Partner.

In 2012 Patrick established Keating International (KI) as Founder and Managing Partner to provide capital raising and M&A services to early-stage technology companies.
