Experience
Patrick’s journey to transform capital raising and M&A service processes for early-stage technology companies began in the 1960s working at his family’s IHC/CaseIH farm equipment dealership established in 1912 in Atkinson Nebraska.
At his family’s dealership Patrick watched the introduction of new technologies that would transform the agriculture equipment industry and, as a result, increase productivity per farmer in the global agriculture sector.
His journey continued in 1980 after completing his curriculum for a Master’s in Public Administration as he watched the next generation of renewable energy technologies begin to transform the energy sector.
In 1988 the journey took him to San Francisco where he entered the financial services industry working at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Citicorp and, for three years before relocating to Europe in 1998, Hambrecht & Quist (H&Q) Investment Banking.
It was during his work at H&Q that he was introduced to the first generation investment banking platform - established in 1968 - that transformed the capital raising and M&A processes to accelerate the growth and increase the value of growth stage technology companies in less time and at a lower cost from an “Idea to an IPO”.
This experience at H&Q included participating in the IPO of H&Q in 1996 when it raised $60.0 million for its future growth.
Patrick's vision was transformed as he participated in a period from 1996-1998 when H&Q completed 241 IPOs for a total volume of $13.9 billion and 184 M&A transactions with a total dollar volume of $201.1 billion.
Relocating to Istanbul TURKEY in 1998 he took take what he learned at H&Q and applied his vision in Turkey and the region at Strateji Securities as Managing Director of Corporate Finance, Is Venture Capital as General Manager and Bosfor Bioscience Partners as Co-Founder and Managing Partner.
As General Manager of Is Venture Capital Patrick led its IPO in 2004 on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In 2008 to Patrick relocated to Lyon FRANCE to further develop his capabilities in semiconductor materials and devices at Yole Finance - a business unit of the Yole Group - as Senior Partner.
Patrick established Keating International (KI) in 2012 as Founder and Managing Partner to bring to market a next-generation corporate finance and advisory services platform.
